Please follow local/state/federal guidelines if you have been exposed to any of these illnesses. Families register with understanding that classes may need to resume to Zoom format if more restrictive orders are reinstated (in which case refunds are not available). Children with Special Needs:

We welcome children with special needs into our classes. We recognize the important role that music plays in the health, well-being and development of all children. We have successfully integrated children with language/learning deficits, autism, physical/emotional challenges, etc. into our classes. We highly recommend a visit to one of our free preview classes to be sure we are a good fit for your child prior to enrollment.  In some instances the particular need of your child may be beyond the scope of what we are able to accommodate in a mixed age class. In that instance, we will do our best to connect you with a Music Together Within Therapy provider who may be able to provide more individualized services.

Classroom Policies (in person classes)

CLASSROOM SAFETY - We provide ample opportunity for movement and physical expression. However, we do not allow continual running, throwing of instruments or other behaviors that jeopardize the safety and well being of participants. We encourage ways for families to redirect unsafe behavior into musical, child friendly interaction. We reserve the right to ask a family to change or withdraw from class if classroom safety and well being is compromised.

FOOD/SNACKS:Please only water in tightly closed containers for our Outdoor Classes. Since our focus is on the music during the 45 minute class, we ask parents to try to provide meals/snacks before/after class. This helps children focus on the musical content as well as honors others with potential food allergies.Thank you!!

TECHNOLOGY/VIDEOTAPING/PICTURES:In our effort to have a fun, focused musical environment, we ask that families please refrain from using technology, mobile devices, cameras, etc during class. Our teachers are happy to take pictures with your children before or after class - thank you!

TOYS:Best to leave toys at home unless it is something that your child absolutely cannot part with. Toys can be a distraction not only for your child but for other children in the class. We provide ample opportunity for instrument play and hope that children can explore these instruments freely.

HONORING YOUR CHILD'S NEEDS: Children love the "Hello Song"! Please come a few minutes early to settle in. If your child becomes fussy and needs a break during class, please feel free to take a few moments away from our circle and come back when you and your little one are ready! This both honors your child's needs and the classroom flow

Photo/Video Release

Upon enrolling in one of our classes, families agree to authorize Mountain Song Music Studio, Inc. and its teaching staff to take photographs and video recordings of adult caregivers and their children while engaging in Music Together activities. Parents or guardians give consent for the utilization of such photos and videos on social media, promotional material and on the Mountain Song Music Studio, inc. website.

If parents/guardians do NOT want us to use photos/videos of yourself or your child please contact Jane Smolens directly - jsmolens@mountainsongmusic.com.
