Acceptance and Adherence to State and Local Health Guidelines Per COVID 19:
Mountain Song Music Studio, Inc. closely monitors the evolving situation with COVID-19. If registering for an Outdoor Class, families agree to accept and abide by State and Local health guidelines. This includes (and is not limited to) wearing protective masks for adults (recommended for children 3 and older), maintaining social distancing from other families during class, and the understanding that classes may need to resume to Zoom format if more restrictive orders are reinstated (in which case refunds are not available). Parents agree to NOT attend class if they or anyone in their immediate family has COVID or feels ill in any way. If exposed to COVID, families agree to notify the Director and abide by state/local guidelines. .Due to restricted class enrollment, only one adult may attend per family and only registered children may attend (i.e. no visitors or unregistered siblings at this point). Please refer to your welcome letter regarding items to bring to class for your safety and comfort. Please note these policies may change as vaccines become more available and health/CDC guidelines evolve.
If you miss your regularly scheduled Music Together class you may schedule a make-up class either on Zoom or a pre-recorded FB/website portal class. Outdoor classes in Boulder may have make up slots based on availablility. Recreation Center Classes in Fort Collins/Windsor are not eligible for make ups due to Rec Center policies. One in person make up class is allowed per semester based on availability. There is more flexibility for extended make ups with online classes. Make ups are on a space-available basis and are not necessarily guaranteed.. Please email Jane (firstname.lastname@example.org) for availability or online links.
Children with Special Needs
We welcome children with special needs into our classes. We recognize the important role that music plays in the health, well-being and development of all children. We have successfully integrated children with language/learning deficits, autism, physical/emotional challenges, etc. into our classes. We highly recommend a visit to one of our free preview classes to be sure we are a good fit for your child prior to enrollment. In some instances the particular need of your child may be beyond the scope of what we are able to accommodate in a mixed age class. In that instance, we will do our best to connect you with a Music Together Within Therapy provider who may be able to provide more individualized services.
CLASSROOM SAFETY - We provide ample opportunity for movement and physical expression. However, we do not allow continual running, throwing of instruments or other behaviors that jeopardize the safety and well being of participants. We encourage ways for families to redirect unsafe behavior into musical, child friendly interaction. We reserve the right to ask a family to change or withdraw from class if classroom safety and well being is compromised.
FOOD/SNACKS:Please only water in tightly closed containers in our teaching spaces. Since our focus is on the music during the 45 minute class, we ask parents to try to provide meals/snacks before/after class. Thank you!!
TECHNOLOGY/VIDEOTAPING/PICTURES:In our effort to have a fun, focused musical environment, we ask that families please refrain from using technology, mobile devices, cameras, etc during class. Our teachers are happy to take pictures with your children before or after class - thank you!
TOYS:Best to leave toys at home unless it is something that your child absolutely cannot part with. Toys can be a distraction not only for your child but for other children in the class. We provide ample opportunity for instrument play and hope that children can explore these instruments freely.
HONORING YOUR CHILD'S NEEDS: Children love the "Hello Song"! Please come a few minutes early to settle in. If your child becomes fussy and needs a break during class, please feel free to take a few moments outside of class and then come back! This both honors your child's needs and the classroom flow
Outdoor Classes may be cancelled due to inclement weather, teacher illness, and for other extraordinary circumstances. For non-recreation center class, classes will be held on Zoom on inclement weather days (same class time). In the case of teacher illness, class will be rescheduled for another day via Zoom. Please check your email for zoom links. No refunds will be given for cancelled classes that are rescheduled via Zoom. For Recreation Center classes, we will add some extra weeks after the session ends for possible outdoor/in person make ups due to inclement weather cancellations.
